    Hi everyone!

As there isn’t much accessibility related information on the south of Chile, I wanted to share with you an article that I wrote about it. It’s already been shared in General Discussions, but I wanted to add it here in the South America group, so that future travelers may find it easier.

Anyway, I visited the Patagonia in the south of Chile with a friend, both of us wheelchair users, in January 2025 and, despite lots of accessibility issues, the experience was amazing.

Here’s the link to the article here on TabiFolk:

South of Chile – Patagonia on Wheels

And then, here’s a list of the activities that we did and the places that we toured, so that if you’re interested in any of these, you may check it and find more information.

    • Punta Arenas (capital of the region).
    • Magellan Penguins at Magdalena Island.
    • King Penguins and Tierra del Fuego tour.
    • Puerto Natales (city in the fjords).
    • Torres del Paine National Park.
    • Milodon’s Cave.
    • Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina.
    • Navigation to Balmaceda and Serrano’s Glaciers.
    • NaviMag Ferry through the fjords from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt.
    • Santiago de Chile (short accessibility review on a linked PDF).

Linked to the article, there’s also the aforementioned PDF with a more in-depth accessibility review of all the cities and activities. So, all in all, there’s quite a lot to start you on your potential trip to Chile or just a good read on accessible tourism.

Anyway, if you are considering or you plan on going and have any questions that are not discussed in the article or the linked document, let me know below. I may not know the answers, but I might be able to give some pointers.

    Happy travels : )

    Joan
